Community Development Coordinator
Ref: 103.19
Base: Dorset
Hours: Part time, 21 hours per week
Salary: £18,685 - £23,230 per annum FTE depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
In this role you’ll collaborate with service users and their families to co-produce community initiatives, encouraging resilience and supporting connection, healthier lifestyles and community involvement. You’ll co-develop events and social enterprise activities, working collaboratively with partner organisations and colleagues to ensure services are coordinated and working towards positive outcomes and goals.
You’ll also be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting our mentors and volunteers, implementing EDPs mentoring progression pathway. You’ll pilot new ways of supporting people to ensure their stories are heard and that they feel able to influence EDP, and the wider system, to meet their aspirations and needs.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with knowledge of co-production and asset based community development. You’ll have experience recruiting, training and supervising peer mentors and/or volunteers, and of working alongside service users to co-produce enterprising activities. Some knowledge and understanding of the harmful effects and treatments associated with drugs misuse will be vital to this role, and knowledge of the criminal justice system would also be useful.
Personally you’ll be able to demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to communicate assertively and influentially to a wide range of audiences. You’ll work well in collaboration with others, and will keep the service user and local community at the heart of everything you do. An innovative thinker, you’ll be open to change and will react positively to new development and demands. You’ll encourage challenge and experimentation, whilst ensuring you are organised, work to deadlines and meet competing demands.
