Our client, an independently owned firm of Chartered Surveyors are looking for a Building Surveyor to join their team in Sevenoaks, Kent.
You will develop, manage and monitor the delivery of the building process and provide professional knowledge regarding project work on period property, churches and stately homes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Prepare scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects and specification of works
* Ensure projects are completed on budget, to schedule. Inform clients and other stakeholders in a timely manner of anticipated delays and variations
* Organise documents for tender and advise on appointing contractors, designers and procurement routes
* Undertake building surveys and other condition surveys
* Determine the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair
* Organise planning applications and advise on property legislation and building regulations
* Provide advice to clients on construction and management regulations
* Comply with all RICS, statutory and other regulatory guidelines
The ideal candidate will be
* An excellent communicator
* A team player who is able to work independently
* An organised individual with excellent attention to detail
* Able to work under pressure
* Able to effectively time manage
* Positive, driven, with a can-do approach
* A strong problem solver
Key Skills and Experience
* 3 years plus post qualified experience
* Ability to run large scale projects
The client will consider part time / reduced hours / remote working for the right candidate. Please note that the sites that will be worked on are in Sevenoaks and surrounding areas and you will be required to travel to site
