LABOUR POOL OPERATIVES

KNOTTINGLEY, WEST YORKSHIRE

Allied Glass Containers are one of Europe’s most prominent manufacturers of premium glass containers, providing exceptional quality glass packaging for some of the world’s most prestigious spirit brands.

As a forward thinking employer, we at Allied are always on the lookout for increasing the number of flexible working opportunities within our business and are therefore excited to announce what we believe is an ideal solution for those who are seeking a rewarding opportunity that fits around personal and home commitments.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed individuals to work as part of a new labour pool servicing our production line at our manufacturing site in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. The role involves:

  • visually inspecting glass containers – passing good ware and rejecting faulty ware
  • undertaking the safe and effective use of automatic and semi- automatic handling and   packing equipment
  • ensuring packed ware meets all Company and customer specifications and requirements.

Here’s the good bit – successful candidates get to choose the hours and days they work!  With guaranteed contracts covering either 12 hours per week (1 x 12 hour shift) or 24 hours per week (2 x 12 hour shifts), with consideration given to working different days each week if required, we believe this opportunity offers great flexibility and balance for today’s demanding lifestyles.

Full training will be provided which ideally will be delivered over a period of 2 full weeks; we will however also look to provide a level of flexibility as to how the training is delivered.

Ideally applicants will possess a keen eye for detail, have the ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels, but ultimately be proactive, energetic and enjoy hands on work.

The position offers a competitive initial rate of pay of £8.49 per hour, increasing to £8.69 per hour from December 2019 and all the usual benefits associated with a major successful organisation, including Company pension scheme, 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata), free parking, subsidised canteen and full workwear.
