We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and motivated occupational therapist, on a full or part time basis, to join the children and young people’s disability team based in Salisbury or Trowbridge. The team is made up of social workers, occupational therapists and a family support worker, and works well in partnership with other agencies and professionals.
LIVE·WORK·COLLABORATE
About the role
The children and young people’s disability team sits under the 0-25yr special educational needs and disability (SEND) service. The SEND service exists to improve outcomes and make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with SEND and their families who require support to be included in their community. Occupational therapists work with young people up to the age of 18 but the age range could extend in the future.
As an occupational therapist you will manage a varied caseload which includes complex cases, whilst having the opportunity to develop skills in assessing, evaluating and supporting the needs of disabled children and their carers by promoting independence and through the provision of equipment and adaptations.
Excellent clinical supervision is provided by the senior occupational therapist and personal professional development is encouraged and supported.
About you
You will be HCPC registered and ideally have previous experience in either a social care or children’s service setting, together with a good understanding of relevant legislation.
You will be well organised and flexible with an ability to manage changing priorities and possess good written and verbal communication skills.
What we offer you as an occupational therapist
* Holidays – you’ll receive at least 25 days' annual leave, rising to 30 after 5 years, public and bank holidays with the option to purchase additional annual leave.
* We provide free parking in the locality of most of our hubs.
* You will be provided with a laptop, so you can work flexibly from any location across the county enabling you to be more effective and flexible in your role.
* We offer an attractive rewards package including discounts and cash back from well-known major supermarket chains, high street retailers, holidays and entertainment as well as local discounts with retailers and service providers
* Discounted leisure membership
* Enrolment into an attractive local government pension scheme
* Occupational health – offers a variety of employee wellbeing services to support a healthy work/life balance and lifestyle, including health screening and smoking cessation sessions
* Car share scheme – if you share your commute with another employee you can benefit from reduced travel costs, while helping to reduce the number of cars on the roads
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, as an employee you will be expected to share this commitment
