The Big Data Hadoop platform team within Group CIO, (Chief Information Office), Lloyds Banking Group, requires a proactive, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our expanding technical team.

The platform team is accountable for the infrastructure, operating system (Linux) and the Hadoop layer (HDP). The team work closely alongside application labs to develop analytic, data science, machine learning and reporting solutions.You'll need a strong technical background, ideally with Linux and Hadoop experience as part of this system administration, technical role. We have a fantastic team spread across the UK and India, who provide 24 hour coverage and support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project delivery
  • Currency upgrades across all production, pre-production and development/test environments
  • Patching and security vulnerability management
  • 24 * 7 Service Support (on a rota)
  • Incident management
  • Problem management and root cause analysis
  • Performance management and optimisation
  • Capacity management - Reporting, Forecasting and Planning
  • Service improvement (CSIP)
  • Risk management
  • Disaster recovery

 

What you'll bring:

  • A strong technical background
  • Commercial experience (within role), of Linux (RHEL V6 or 7)
  • Knowledge of Hadoop (HDP) and the associated processes to manage the platform
  • The ability to work independently with a strong focus on delivery
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to plan and work on multiple tasks
