Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Development, Construction and Asset Management Business of the Green Investment Group Limited. As a highly motivated Infrastructure Analyst, you will support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. This role will see you work in the Development business with responsibility for our solar and other onshore renewable investments.

As an Infrastructure Analyst you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on Green Investment Group’s Development Business portfolio. You will form strong internal relationships with asset managers, deal teams, senior management, health & safety, finance and risk teams. A key aspect of your role will be to proactively analyse the impact of individual project risk, regulatory changes and the economic environment on the group’s portfolio.  In working with deal teams, risk and finance, you will manage project financial models and take part in preparation of regular asset performance reports.

To perform at the right level in this role, you will have at least 2-3 years’ experience gained in an investment banking/project finance environment or an advisory firm working with financial services clients. You will have some foundation knowledge or proven commercial exposure to the renewable energy sector and be able to demonstrate strong analytical, organisational, reporting and problem-solving skills.

The role is based in either London or Edinburgh, with some travel to other destinations in Europe.

This role is in Macquarie Capital, specifically within the Green Investment Group. Macquarie Capital provides advisory and capital raising services to corporate and government clients involved in public mergers and acquisitions, private treaty acquisitions and divestments, debt and equity fundraising and corporate restructuring. The Green Investment Group was acquired by Macquarie Group in 2017, creating one of Europe’s largest teams of dedicated green infrastructure investors. It is a specialist in green infrastructure principal investment, project delivery and portfolio management, and related services. Its track record, expertise and capability make it a global leader in green investment across a broad range of technologies including onshore and offshore wind, solar, waste-to-energy, and energy efficiency/storage.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
