Discovery Creative London is the multi-award-winning in-house agency creating brand identities, on-air promotions, advertising, branded content and communications for consumer, trade and corporate use across a range of media - principally TV, social, digital and print – for Discovery’s UK portfolio of pay and free-to-air channel brands, including Discovery, DMAX, Quest, Animal Planet, Eurosport, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Quest Red, Really, HGTV and Food.

Reporting to the Director of Production & Operations, the Producer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production from planning through to delivery of assigned projects & campaigns, informing and reporting to the Senior Producer and Director of Production & Operations at all key stages. The Producer is responsible for facilitating the highest level of creative output across all relevant platforms and media (on-air promos, digital & social, on-air branding print and continuity elements); maximizing budget within the time constraints, taking initiative to aid the creative and wider Creative team where necessary with a hands-on approach. The producer is expected to take responsibility and ownership for one or more flagship channels, demonstrating a full understanding of brand, processes, style guides and relationships relating to that channel.

Responsibilities

PRODUCTION OF CAMPAIGNS

 

  • Support creatives: preparing material, bookings & schedules, budget control, gather briefs, makelists, set up & attend briefing, organise digitizing & edit preparation when necessary, manage approval process and daily approval folders, Soundmouse, QC final delivery and create final quicktimes.
  • Shoot production of certain campaigns – including briefings; crewing up; risk assessments; insurance clearance; casting; liaising with equipment houses; post production; callsheets; scheduling; booking transport and accommodation; music composition, being the point of contact for all HoD including location.
  • Co-ordinate production needs across media within a given project from brief through to delivery – likely to include tv, digital, social deliverables and print – liaising with Creative Directors and Managers, Design, Programming, Compliance, Legal, International teams, Marketing and Brand Partnership teams as appropriate.
  • Liaise with DPost, our internal post production team, & VO agencies - book edits, audio sessions & VO talent.
  • Liaise with external post production facilities when necessary.
  • Attend and supervise reversioning edits & audio sessions when necessary.
  • Checking music clearance for promotional use. Liaising with the music team.
  • Proactively work with Media Planning to ensure timely and accurate issue of makelists, and ensuring all material is delivered to spec and on time.
  • Responsible for delivery of Sponsorship elements and other off-network materials.
  • Assisting other team members with internal projects when necessary (Design, Off-air, Sponsorship, Sales tapes).

 ADMINSTRATION AND FINANCE

 

  • Responsible for reconciling projects on budget and within a set time frame.
  • Process invoices, raise & close POs, update budgets & maintain links to summary document at all times.
  • Ensure music details are entered by deadline for all projects on Soundmouse.
  • Ensure compliance and clearance procedures are followed and documented.
  • Create QTs & distribute for sign off.
  • Maintain Production Folders & Documents.
  • Update Production Schedule.
  • Update, inform and communicate key stages to Senior Producer and DoP&O.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of production experience.
  • Shoot production experience, preferable
  • Strong team player.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills & negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • An understanding of edit software and systems
  • Knowledge of AVID, Premier Pro and Adobe packages is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of IBMS and SAP is an advantage.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office software including Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
  • Clear understanding, knowledge and passion for DNUK channel brands.
  • Working knowledge of compliance and music rights clearance guidelines and internal processes.
