Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Care Companion, Eastleigh
£9.30 - £21.00 per hour plus 25p mileage allowance
Full and part time hours assured and guaranteed hours
Are you looking for full or part time hours and want to make a difference to someone like Martha*? Maybe you have considered Volunteer jobs? There is no upper age limit for applications, becoming a Paid Volunteer, Befriender & Care Companion could be perfect for you.
You would need to be available to work in the Romsey, Eastleigh, Chandlers Ford, Bishop and surrounding areas of Winchester. No experience is required as full training will be provided. However, it is essential that you have a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
Martha* is 85 years old, he has lived on his own since her husband Peter died 15 years ago and has always been independent. Last year, Martha had a fall whilst out shopping and it knocked her confidence somewhat. She stopped going out and even became scared of the stairs in her own home and would often sleep on the sofa rather than go to bed. Martha* is typical of someone you would help, she still wants to get out and about, but confidence stops her, that is where you come in. You would help her with daily routines that have become harder for her but also take her out and keep her independent and doing the things she has always done. This would be things like helping her with her morning, lunchtime, or evening routine, or assisting with personal care where required, reminding her to take medication. Going shopping with him or taking her on an outing every week?
