Children and Young People Support Worker

Reporting To: Senior Support Worker

Job Description

Overview of Role

CF Support Services Ltd is offering a unique opportunity to work with children and young people and really make a difference.

Our support workers motivate and empower Suffolk's young people to address short and long-term challenges. We work closely with the Local Authorities in the area, and therefore no day will be the same. We provide bespoke support tailored to each young person and/or family's individual needs. This is a diverse role which will give you a broad range of experience within children's social care.

The majority of the work will include community support, so you must have access to your own vehicle. Travel across Suffolk is essential as this depends where our young people live (e.g. can be rural areas). There may also be occasions where travel to Norfolk/Essex is required depending on service demand.

Your day to day could be anything from supervising contact between children and their families, disability support (including personal care), encouraging independent living skills to teenagers leaving care, and providing respite to families.

We are ideally looking to recruit a support worker on a 40 hr per week contract, however 0hr positions are available as well.

For the 40 hr contract, your core working pattern would be Thursday to Monday. This can be flexible for the right candidate, however unsociable hours including weekend/evening work are a condition of this role.

Owning Own car with full UK driving Licence and able to travel is essential.

  • Proven and relevant experience of working directly with young people and families
  • Qualification in Health and Social Care
  • Proven experience of personal time planning and prioritisation of work
  • Experience of inter-agency/partnership working and managing these relationships
