Wiltshire Council has an exciting opportunity for an Organisational Development (OD) Officer – Practice Education in the Human Resources and Organisational Development (HR & OD) service. This role will be temporary fixed term or a secondment for internal applicants.

About the role
This role will be primarily responsible for coordinating and assessing across all areas of practice education for student placements in accordance with national and local guidelines and the social work regulator.
This will include working closely with managers, students and social workers to support good assessments and to identify issues with fitness to practice, using creativity and innovation to co-develop solutions with student/social workers and managers based on professional recommendations to ensure best practice
The OD Officer – Practice Education will also be involved in and oversee organisational development programmes under the Wiltshire Social Care Academy with operational service leads. This would include initiatives such as Step Up to Social Work, Grow Your Own (in-house programme), and degree level Apprenticeship Standards for Social Work and offering recommendations based on professional knowledge to ensure continuous improvement.
About you
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent with a professional social work qualification and be HCPC registered.
You will hold a Practice Educator qualification such as the Practice Teacher’s Award or the Graduate Certificate in Practice Education (GCPE), with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Practice Educator and be able to demonstrate Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) currency.
