Community Development Officer - Housing
Bedford
Part Time - 22.5 hours per week (Wednesday to Friday) with some occasion out of hours working, often at short notice
Temporary - 6 months
£15,500 plus £1,216 car allowance (FTE £25,500 plus £2,200 car allowance) per annum
bpha is a Housing Association located in the Oxford to Cambridge corridor, which is committed to providing its customers with high quality, value for money services whilst continuing to develop energy efficient, sustainable and affordable housing.
We are currently looking for a Community Development Officer to join our team. The main purpose of this role is to work with internal and external partners to deliver realistic and long lasting community solutions.
What you will be doing:
*
Initiating and encouraging community cohesion, including being involved in the planning and handover of new housing developments
*
Identifying and helping to secure funding and other resources for community based initiatives / projects
*
Empowering communities to create a voice that can tackle their needs and represent their interests
*
Encouraging residents to participate in decision-making consultation and other resident involvement activities
We’d love to meet someone with:
*
Experience of working within a community based role
*
Experience of managing projects
*
Strong communication and reporting writing skills
*
A creative approach to problem solving
*
Awareness of relevant political changes affecting communities in social housing
*
A full UK driving licence and the ability to work unsociable hours at short notice
