Bakkavor Desserts has 4 sites within the Bakkavor Group. This role sits at one of the sites Devizes.
Bakkavor Desserts Devizes, Wiltshire specialises in making chilled desserts such as tarts, yum yums, doughnuts, pies and pastries.

Working as the Occupational Health Advisor for the Devizes site this role will focus on providing an effective and efficient occupational health service which meets the needs of the business, adds value in terms of health surveillance; reducing sickness/absence and promotes employee well-being.

Accountabilities

To assess referred employees regarding their current fitness for work, provide advice and reports to the HR Department, Line managers; access additional information or health provision as appropriate i.e. medical reports, physio, counselling etc.
To record, manage and conduct health surveillance/assessments as required by legislation, codes of practice and organisation policy.
To work closely with HR team and managers providing guidance regarding return to work for long-term sick employees regarding prognosis and evaluation against job specific requirements.
To work with internal customers, other advisory bodies and external customers to review existing services/practices to ensure future needs are met and the service continues to add value to the business.
To work closely with Health and Safety providing advice on risk assessments and identify improvements, i.e. ergonomics which benefit the working environment of all employees.
To identify well-being initiatives that promote healthy living and proactively drive agreed initiatives.
Provide support and guidance to first aiders in relation to supplies and equipment required.
To support in the management of the Occupational Health Department spend and budget in conjunction with the HR Manager.Required Skills & Experience:

Nursing Qualification (EN/RGN)
Previous Experience in Occupational Health practice
Awareness of current OH, Health & Safety and relevant employment legislation
Strong communication and interpersonal skillsThis role is part time 15 hours a week, over 2 days working hours can be flexible between the hours of 8am and 10pm to ensure all shifts are covered as required. Working days will fall Monday to Friday and can be flexible to meet the needs of the successful candidate
