Bournemouth & Poole College has an exciting opportunity for an Assessor Trainer to join their team based in Bournemouth. You will be working on a part time, permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £21,829 - £24,035 pro rata (actual salary £8,731 - £9,613 per annum). The Assessor Trainer role: You will manage, review, assess and train a caseload of learners who are based in the workplace and are currently undertaking any type of work-based learning.  To ensure that the success rates of learners are at or above the level set by the College. As our Assessor Trainer you will: - Train and assess learners’ progress and maintain records of assessments of learning carried out. - Support employers in the correct choice of framework/standard and develop a learning and development plan for their apprentices. - Create a training plan for employers using frameworks and standards. - Carry out initial assessment of apprentices and design a learning and development package to meet their needs. - Maintain accurate records of learner assessments and achievements via an e-portfolio platform. - Efficient record keeping, tracking using the systems provided and stipulated by the College and report agreed targets. - Effective delivery of work based assessment of Apprenticeships, monitoring and target setting within the area of competence. -  Deliver classroom practical and theory sessions and workshops, one to one instruction and/or training sessions relating to knowledge, skills and behaviour development and to assess candidates in the workplace. - Conduct assessment, evaluation and progress reviews as appropriate, both inside the  College and in the workplace. - Provide regular and purposeful reports to employers, apprentices, learners and the College so that there is a clear plan of action which is time bound for each learner and which allows completion with agreed target dates. The ideal Assessor Trainer will need: -  Have a relevant qualification at Level 3 within the sector. - Training/teaching qualifications. - Assessor qualifications. - Evidence of up to date knowledge and practice in vocational area. - Working knowledge and extensive vocational experience of the hairdressing and barbering sector. - Responsive to legislative changes in the hairdressing and barbering sector. - Excellent understanding of work based learning in particular apprenticeships. - Excellent communication and organisational skills. - Ability to co-ordinate visits/workload effectively. - Excellent IT skills. - Excellent administration skills. - A team player who is friendly and approachable. - Ability to cope positively with change.
