This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role within a high profile team supporting the Council's senior managers and elected members to set the organisation's strategic and operational ambitions; facilitate inclusion, diversity and equality; track progress, drive continuous improvement and report to the communities it serves.
You will make a key contribution to the step-change modernisation, integration and redesign of the Council's corporate policy, community planning, self-evaluation / continuous improvement and equalities functions.
Working within the new established Strategic Insight and Communities Division and reporting to the new Strategic Services Development Manager you will help build a team that is: outward facing, efficient and adaptable; aware of current and developing policy and best practice across the UK and beyond and capable of generating clear and concise, high-value rapid-response briefings, reports and think pieces.
You will be working closely with the newly established Data & Business Intelligence Team to further strengthen the Council's existing integrated strategic and operational planning and performance framework and you will develop and maintain strong links with the Community Learning & Development Team in order to ensure communities are empowered and able to influence strategy, policy on an ongoing basis.
The successful applicant will be: a highly-motivated individual, with a strong understanding of best value, community planning, policy, equalities and performance and improvement; a confident and capable user of modern software tools and platforms; and a skilled and successful people manager who can pivot from big picture issues to pieces of work that require a detail focused approach.
