Our client is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.

They are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Senior Service Manager to join their services in Bradford.

Working as part of a team of Senior Managers overseeing Supported Living services within the Bradford Area, to work under the direct line management of the Area Manager and working alongside a Senior Service Manager, to ensure that the needs of the people we support are met and that the locality continues to work strategically.

The Bradford Area is geographically split into two clusters with a Senior Service Manager overseeing each cluster and line managing those service managers working within that cluster. In addition the Senior Services Managers share joint responsibility of being Registered Manager, under the Care Quality Commission. The post holder will be delegated addition responsibilities and or management projects by the Area Manager.

Key Specific Roles –

• Understand, and exercise at all times, a ‘Duty of Care’ to the people they support and others
• Responsible for quality and consistency across the service
• Lead practice and coach managers. Support the team in ensuring progressive, supportive team working.
• Manage staff resources including deployment of rotas, agency usage and overseeing recruitment
• Responsible for Quality audit checks and measures and KPI returns
• Oversee and maintain contact with internal and external stakeholders
• Attend internal and external meetings when required, e.g. Contract monitoring with funders/LA
• Build and develop community links and relationships with external agencies and providers, for the engagement of people they support
• Oversee all budgetary requirements reporting to Senior Area Manager, Divisional Finance Manger any irregularities
• Ensure appropriate informal/ formal process are engaged to maintain high standards and support
• Alert and report any issues of safeguarding vulnerable people with whom you support in accordance with local and statutory guidelines and protocol
• Provide direction and leadership to the local management team within the delivery of supports.
• Take responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of localised ways of working, policy and procedural frameworks.

About you

• Have a genuine compassion and integrity to treat people with dignity and respect
• Have a knowledge of services in Bradford Area
• L5 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Have significant experience as a Registered Service Manager supporting people who have a learning disability and autistic spectrum disorders.
• Have experience of managing teams and leading the development of new services.
• Have knowledge of current CQC fundamental standards and experience of working within CQC and other relevant legislative requirements.
• Are a car driver and have the use of a vehicle for business purposes.
