Osborne Clarke are recruiting a Senior People Development Manager to support the delivery of their learning and development strategy.  This role can be based from either our Bristol or London office.

You will report into the Head of People Development and will have line management responsibility for other members of the People Development (PD) team. You'll work collaboratively with the wider HR team as well as senior stakeholders across the business.

We are looking for someone who can challenge traditional L&D thinking to create learning and development that will support individuals and managers within our business in a timely and accessible way.  This role will require collaboration, creativity, commitment to seeing things through and a drive to make a difference. Tasks and responsibilities

Work as a senior member of the People Development team to deliver Osborne Clarke's Learning and Development strategy:

  • Drawing on Osborne Clarke's internal expertise and knowledge as well as external content and resources to create multi-faceted programmes that may include self-led learning, group discussion, facilitated learning, knowledge sharing, coaching or 1:1 support.
  • Work with the Head of People Development to drive the development of our Partners, lawyers and business services professionals.
  • Drawing on current thinking in L&D to create content and resources that are beyond the norm.  
  • Acting as a curator and concierge of learning content and resources.
  • Working with HR Business Partners and Line Managers to identify and support individual development needs.
  • Working with the Head of People Development to implement Line Manager and Partner development.
  • Managing Osborne Clarke's Coaching and Mentoring programmes.  
  • Involvement in wider HR projects and initiatives.
  • Agreeing and implementing measures of success for all development activities.  

Work with the Head of People Development to implement Osborne Clarke's programme of International development:

  • Leading on the design and delivery of the International lawyer conferences and programmes for our Partners and senior lawyers.   
  • Leading and managing the firm's International exchange.  
  • Leading on the communication strategy for the firm's international development.   

 

Core skills, qualifications and competencies

We are looking for somebody who can provide people development activity across all parts of the firm, and in all its locations, including internationally, as required. The successful candidate will be able to display the following:

  • Proven expertise as a L&D professional who challenges the norm
  • Experience of introducing and implementing new learning methods or approaches
  • Experience of operating at a senior level within Learning and Development
  • Experience of implementing a L&D strategy
  • Able to operate in a highly professional, partner led, service driven environment
  • Line management experience
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Comfortable delivering in a variety of settings i.e. structured programmes, team days and workshops
  • A clear, concise communicator who builds credibility quickly
  • Experience of working within professional services and/or partnership structures desirable
  • Psychometric qualifications would be an advantage
  • Experience of coaching at all levels within an organisation. A recognised coaching qualification is desirable
