Do you want to work with a sixth form college who has had results above the national average for the past 25 years?
We are looking for a well-qualified engineer to contribute to our level 3 engineering course. The successful candidate needs to have a good knowledge of engineering including areas such as engineering materials; pneumatic and hydrolytic gears; power transmission systems; engineering manufacturing systems; designing, assembly and operation of mechanical systems along with the ability to teach about types of systems and their capabilities and limitations.
This role could suit a graduate who wants to go into teaching as a teacher training programme is available or an experience teacher.
You will earn £24,098 - £39,329 per annum pro rata – to start ASAP. Working hours are Full or Part time, depending on the applicant.
Key experience essential for the role:-
* Appropriate teaching qualification or willing to undertake the DET through the college if you are a graduate teacher
* Have a relevant higher education qualification
* Have successful teaching experience / practice in the 14-19 age range
* Live within a commutable distance to Bexhill-on-sea
Key Responsibilities:-
* Plan and organise learning experiences, either directly (through teaching) or indirectly (through the management of learning and assessment)
* Use, or oversee, a range of appropriate teaching and assessment strategies which incorporate processes to ensure that effective learning has taken place
* Fully utilise teaching time to support learners and liaise with Personal Tutor and Additional Learning Support teams
* Create a purposeful, positive and supportive teaching environment, sensitive to equal opportunity, individual needs and health and safety issues
* Be willing to teach students across a range of levels from level 1 to level 3 - 14 to 19 years and 19+
* To take responsibility for a tutor group
* Provide students with subject-specific support in line with their Individual Learning Plans.
* Undertake any reasonable task at the request of the Principal or designated Deputy
