About the role of Support Worker:
You might spend your morning helping a young woman with learning disabilities get ready for the day by providing personal care, support with breakfast and motivating them to go to their favourite day centre.
Then at lunchtime, you could be visiting one of our client’s supported living projects to help someone with their finances and budgeting, ensuring they are able to plan for their future and look towards moving in to an independent home.
By the end of your shift, you will have helped a multitude of people with a multitude of tasks; each one resulting in a huge sense of achievement and satisfaction!
This is a role where you will really be able to see the difference you make to people’s lives. The passion you bring to the job will provide them with support and encouragement to live fulfilling lives.
Our clients may have learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental health support needs so you will need to be willing to provide a wide range of support – but don’t worry, we provide amazing training sessions that will help you to develop the skills you need.
As a Support Worker you will be reliable, resilient and empathetic in your service delivery and approach. You need to be able to demonstrate an understanding towards individuals who are experiencing great changes in their lives that may have learning difficulties, autism and some behaviours of concern.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, although not essential, as full training will be provided.
