Investment Group and Macquarie Group’s corporate advisory, capital markets, and principal transactions business.  You will work side-by-side with Europe deal teams to ensure operational risk is appropriately addressed and managed within the Macquarie Capital business. Macquarie Capital is a truly global business with staff in 37 offices across 22 locations. The teams work on some of the largest and most high-profile infrastructure transactions in the world, providing you with broad exposure, variety and the opportunity to apply your expertise in a truly commercial context.

Located in London, you will report into the Regional Business Operational Risk Director and use your understanding of operational risk management to help develop successful risk frameworks, drive a strong risk management culture and provide expert advice to senior leaders and teams across the region.

Working alongside deal teams you will assess new opportunities for operational risks and provide guidance on the internal approvals required for these activities.  As a confident risk manager with strong problem-solving skills you will provide advice on internal controls, risk frameworks and the implementation of Groupwide policies.  In addition, you will be able to execute and monitor risk management effectiveness and conduct detailed investigation of operational issues and control breakdowns in Macquarie Capital to determine root cause and trends.

Using your strong communication skills, you will partner with all areas of the business including Macquarie Capital Senior Management and central Risk Management Group stakeholders.  Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to proactively build relationships will be essential to your success as well as your ability to work independently in a dynamic fast-paced environment. You will be an experienced risk professional with 6+ years previous experience in operational risk or related risk role.
