What is the purpose of the role?

To support the Project Manager in the delivery of allocated contracts, safely and in accordance with legislation and Amey Procedures to contract specification and programme.



What makes the role unique?

You will assist in site monitoring and cost control / reporting for allocated contracts in a timely manner and approved format.



What will this role involve?

  1. To achieve planning for right materials, right order, job ready and traffic management and carry out site inspection of works orders received and arrange for advance signing to be provided if required
  2. Ensure that the work described can be carried out safely in accordance with current legislation and aligned to the environmental and noise legislation
  3. Ensure work required has risk assessments and method statements available and that the information provided for public utility apparatus is correct and that Service Hazard and Risk Control (SHARC) permit is prepared
  4. Check that the correct quantities are listed in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) on the works order
  5. Arrange for any specialist materials or plant to be ordered in advance of the works
  6. Check the work can be carried out safely in accordance with the TM layout specified
  7. Discuss with the client if a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) is required
  8. Liaise with the Client or the OCR to arrange the necessary road space or Roadworks permits
  9. In conjunction with Operations Management, OCR and Capacity Planner advise on resource required and if necessary meet with supply chain
  10. Carry out liaison with local stakeholders (with others) if required and arrange letter drops
  11. Check the works order contains sufficient information to carry out the work and that it is buildable
  12. Advise OCR if the order should be returned to the client requesting further information
  13. Responsible for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety and safe operation to protect members of the public
  14. Liaising with OCR Controller, Data Controller and Supervisors

Ensure liaison with the Highways Supervisor and the OCR Manager to enable works to be completed efficiently and effectively



What are we looking for?

  • CITB Site Safety Management (or equivalent)
  • Experience of Chapter 8
  • New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA)
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferably with LGV Class C
  • CSCS card
  • Demonstrable experience of working on Highways Maintenance contracts
  • Experience with delivering Emergency service and winter service
  • Detailed operational knowledge
  • Knowledge of the Standard method of measurement for Highway Works
