The Opportunity

We are transforming our approach to Finance across Plan International developing its impact, effectiveness and how it enables us to be a financially sustainable, commercially astute INGO, in an increasingly challenging economic and sector landscape. In this exciting high-profile position as the Head of Financial Capability you will be fundamental in leading this transformation – working directly to the Executive Director of Finance and IT and in partnership with the Finance senior leadership team across the globe, OD colleagues and National Organisations finance colleagues. It will be central to developing a high performing modern global finance function that is customer focused, provides evidence-based insight and analysis and efficient and effective processes and a strong financial mindset and culture in the wider organisation. Additionally, it will be focussing on transforming the wider organisations financial management skills and capability. 

The Person

With demonstrable understanding and experience of all aspects of finance functions, including Finance professional standards.

A strong communicator and people manager with experience of developing and implementing transformation and culture change. Experience as a trainer and capacity building. Demonstrable influencing experience engaging at all levels including at Board level and with diverse stakeholders. With a positive, can do approach and passion for Finance and continuous improvement.

In-depth experience with development professional schemes (apprenticeships, graduate programmes, CPD programmes) to ensure we grow our own capacity

Type of Role: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract with strong possibility of extension

Location: Global Hub, Woking, Surrey

Salary: Competitive

Reports to: Executive Director of Finance and IT
