What is the purpose of this role?

To work in a team to provide grounds maintenance services in the Edinburgh area.



What will this role involve?

General maintenance, such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing leaves and litter, verges Erect and dismantle equipment. Horticulture activities such as. planting, pruning and seeding Setting out, making sports pitches including grass and tarmac surfaces. Upkeep of artificial, synthetic pitches. Tree care, Painting sundry equipment, Operate light plant and power tools Undertake vehicle, tractor, and cutting equipment checks. Weather dependant carry out site gritting and snow clearing activities. Based out of our Rosyth depot you will be part of a mobile team servicing sites in Edinburgh, Borders and Clackmannanshire.



What are we looking for?

Full driving licence with category B+E (trailers) Basic knowledge of gardening and horticulture operations. General experience of grounds maintenance type duties. Experience in operating light plant and equipment and wheeled tractors. Experience of horticulture operations including planting, pruning and seeding. Sports pitch lining, Understanding of Health and Safety Legislation, COSHH. Ability to pass PVG check, Other PA1 & PA6 (Pesticides) Ride on Mower, Strimmer, Small grounds maintenance plant. We require a flexible team player who takes pride in the standard of their work and displays a positive attitude to health & safety in the work place.



What makes this role unique?

The role involves looking after all aspects of grounds maintenance on 23 of our school sites in Edinburgh, Borders and Clackmannanshire. We cover all aspects of grounds maintenance, including amenity areas, natural grass sports pitches, synthetic sports surfaces, woodland and planted areas. The wide scope of our service and number of tasks involved give this role a nice variety.
