Job Details

Are you a skilled workshop technician with an interest in computer-aided design and attracted to helping develop medical devices that can make a difference to people's lives? Then Pfizer has the ideal opportunity.

One of the world's premier innovative biopharmaceutical companies, we've discovered, developed and delivered over 100 different medicines, vaccines and consumer healthcare products worldwide. Products that help save and transform the lives of millions of people around the world every year. And, we want you on board. You'll be an integral part of our friendly and growing team influencing the development of mechanical and electro-mechanical drug delivery devices within our Research and Development Devices Centre of Excellence located close to Cambridge.

Your challenge? To help produce test equipment, prototypes and challenge parts for the development, manufacture and labelling of drug delivery devices, and to manage the workshop equipment and processes.

This role requires excellent precision engineering techniques, attention to detail and the skills to work and communicate well with a range of scientists, engineers and project leads. You may be working from drawings or you may be developing ideas as a result of team discussions. The range of tasks will also include input to the design, coordinating suppliers, managing the workshop and technical trouble-shooting. In addition, we are looking for someone who has, or wishes to develop, basic skill in the use of CAD packages to help document product designs.

It's an outstanding opportunity to make the most of your engineering skill. As well as a recognized mechanical engineering apprenticeship and practical experience as an engineering machine shop technician, you'll also bring a talent for creative problem-solving to the role and can use your collaborative skills to become a valued member of the team in a positive, flexible working environment.
