As an experienced and dynamic Credit Risk professional, this role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your superior credit skills across a diverse range of credit, equity and trading exposures. You will be required to engage with all levels of management and use your strong communication skills to articulate your review findings and drive positive learning outcomes.

Commitment to the continuous improvement of Macquarie’s Credit Assurance Framework is a key success factor.  The team serves as second line of defence with oversight responsibilities for the Firm’s wholesale and retail credit businesses.

Responsibilities include:

- delivery of the Group’s wholesale credit assurance programme and credit risk analysis; encompassing rating accuracy, key risks, risk return analysis and reporting

- review and rating of credit discretion holders across the group which includes checking of a sample of credit/equity approvals for quality of analysis and process.

- discussing and agreeing identified issues with delegation holders and their line managers.

- providing insight to senior management in relation to trends identified in reporting.

- agreeing and logging actions to address issues identified during reviews.

-  development and provision of training and advice about credit risk policies and methodologies across Macquarie

- conducting hindsight assessments of significant credit events.

To be successful in this role you will enjoy applying your intellect to challenge the status quo, possess the ability to think laterally with strong problem solving and communication skills. You will have a tertiary degree in Finance or a related area with 5-10 years’ experience gained within an international financial institution or professional services firm. Tenacity, agility and a proven ability to sustain high levels of performance in a fast-paced, output focused environment will be essential.

Risk Management Group is an independent, centralised unit responsible for ensuring all risk across Macquarie are appropriately assessed and managed. Its divisions include Credit, Prudential, Capital and Markets, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance, Quantitative Applications and Internal Audit.
