Reporting to the Account Director and under the direction of the Business Unit lead for HSEQ, this role shall provide 'value-added' support to the USVF Account so that all personnel effectively discharge their responsibilities specifically relating HSEQ Assurance Management.

By:

  • Challenging the account to meet (and exceed), business and Client HSEQ targets. Develop an approach which embodies the principles of continuous improvement.
  • Coaching the Account team so that they live the HSEQ responsibilities and accountability which the business has placed upon them.
  • Supporting the development of account personnel so that they become largely self-sufficient in managing HSEQ, whilst maintaining a comprehensive support role to address the more complex or challenging HSEQ items.
  • Providing proactive and professional support and acting as the 'subject matter expert' for HSEQ issues.
  • Helping Account leaders to formulate effective compliance and improvement plans aligned to Amey's corporate HSEQ strategies, plans and client requirements.
  • Acting as a commercially aware, focused, business-minded partner for Quality within the account.
  • Implement and maintain a third party registered Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with contractual, legal, MoD requirements and best practice
  • Develop a quality audit programme and other monitoring regimes to consistently meet compliance requirements with Amey and its Supply Chain
  • Develop, implement and maintain a Quality Plan (QP), to outline requirements and work specific activities at Establishments and provide updates
  • Co-ordinate DIO queries, contract assurance activities and internal assurance regimes to meet contract requirements
  • Monitor data from all quality programmes and regimes to provide reports to Amey and DIO, identify effective solutions and implement actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Facilitate collaboration, and continual improvement within Amey and DIO, on contract compliance issues and locally required processes
  • Lead and maintain compliance with ISO9001 across the Region
  • Working collaboratively with the wider HSEQ function to ensure best practice HSEQ solutions are shared throughout the business.


What are we looking for?

A HSEQ professional who:

  • Is an ambassador and role model for the HSEQ function with an engaging communication and influencing style able to work with all levels of the business.
  • Works with diligence and professionalism and in doing so can command support and respect from all levels within the organisation.
  • Has the appetite and ability to work collaboratively across the HSEQ team and wider business functions.
  • Has experience in developing and implementing new working methods and initiatives that could improve HSEQ management across the Account & business.
  • Is capable of helping to achieve successful culture change in a complex business with experience of project management and delivery.
  • Has strong business acumen and previous experience of a diverse and complex operating business.
  • Produces consistently high quality communications (such as presentations, reports and emails) with experience in the delivery of Quality management training.
  • Is ideally Chartered Member (IOSH, IEMA, CQP MCQI) however, in the absence of this professional qualification, demonstrable HSE and quality management experience is essential.
  • PERSON REQUIREMENT

    • 5 years health and safety experience
    • Relevant Professional membership
    • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
    • Proven track record in delivering sustainable improvement
    • Lead Auditor in ISO 9001,14001 (to current standards)
    • Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or other relevant professional body
