Youth Development Assistant
We’re looking for a Youth Development Assistant to assist with all elements of our client’s Youth Development Project, helping to develop activities and workshops that empower young people through their transition to adulthood

Job Title: Youth Development Assistant
Location: Hammersmith and other surrounding areas
Salary: £10.55 per hour
Hours: Part Time - 18 hours per week (must be available to work during school holidays)
About the role:
As Youth Development Assistant you will work in conjunction with the Youth Development Manager. You will be responsible for helping with developing activities and workshops that empower young people through their transition to adulthood, within funding requirements and outcomes. Young people who access the service will be supported to become self-advocates, develop leaderships skills and develop confidence and independence.
Workshops and activities include: an art club, a drama club, relationship and sex education workshops, travel training, holiday and half-term activities and an outreach service (within schools, colleges and the local community). The assistant may be required to work some evenings and weekends.
About you:
The successful Youth Development Assistant will have a flexible approach to working with the energy, stamina, resilience and patience needed to take on the tasks associated with this role. You will bring with you the following skills and experience:
- A relevant degree OR similar work experience within a social care setting
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher)
- Experience with working with people whom have a learning disability or autism or young people
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written, including presentation skills and excellent listening skills
- Ability to network and do outreach work effectively
- Willingness to attend relevant trainings and undertake personal development
We very much welcome previous experience working as: Child and Youth Program Assistant, Assistant Youth Development Worker, Youth Worker, Child and Youth Development, Youth Support Worker, Mental Health Youth Worker, Educational Youth Worker, Support worker Children and Young People, Youth Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant, Residential Youth Worker, Child Care Worker etc.
