As part of the Compliance Division within our Risk Management Group, this highly visible role is based on the London trading floor, supporting Macquarie’s Futures and Physical markets businesses.

Be an integral part of the Commodities and Global Markets Business Compliance team, in London. Reporting into a Senior Manager within the team, this is an exciting opportunity to support the business and gain a broad experience within the Commodities and Global Markets Business Compliance team.

Your primary areas of coverage will be European Futures Exchanges and related Physical markets activity. You will be required to advise the business daily on regulatory advice and guidance on rules and internal policies, and support them with new products and services.

In addition, you will monitor activities including desk reviews and thematic reviews for compliance with FCA and Exchange rules and requirements and provide relevant training to the business whilst also conducting enquiries and investigations where necessary.

You will be responsible for Exchange enquiries and contribute to ad hoc projects within the broader regional and global compliance teams. You will work closely with the surveillance team on escalated matters. Your experience of trading floor compliance at a commodity trading or financial services firm will be well utilized in this role.

Your strong understanding of Commodities, Futures/exchange traded derivatives and Physical markets experience and strong knowledge of the UK and EU regulatory rules and requirements, including FCA and European Exchange rules/requirements is crucial in this role. You will have excellent relationship and communication skills, be naturally collaborative, process driven, solutions orientated, pragmatic and proportionate during the course of your professional duties. As a strong team player, you will work well within a team environment and have the ability to work independently.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
