What is the purpose of this role?

We have an opportunity for an experienced Fire Alarm & Electrical Engineer to join our Waste Treatment Plant in Milton Keynes. This is a chance to join a high-profile site within Amey that is using cutting edge technology to transform Waste Treatment.

If you have experience of maintaining and repairing fire alarm systems as well as electrical systems delivering business, contractual and statutory SLA's you will enjoy this position.



What will this role involve?

  • Planned maintenance tasks on fire detection systems
  • Reactive repairs on fire detection systems
  • Planned maintenance tasks on electrical systems
  • Planned maintenance on emergency lighting
  • Reactive repairs on electrical systems
  • Portable appliance testing
  • Ad-hoc building repairs and planned preventative maintenance tasks to support wider team on site
  • Provide information exchange with on-site customers
  • Ensure all legislative requirements are adhered to
  • Ensure all corporate polices and procedures are implemented and complied with
  • Ensure all services are delivered in line with contractual commitments

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00



What are we looking for?

  • Hold the relevant FIA/British Standard qualification or accreditation
  • Experience with servicing and maintaining fire detection systems
  • Experience with installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems in accordance with the current edition of The IET Wiring Regulations
  • IET Wiring Regulations 18th edition
  • Experience with emergency lighting maintenance and fault finding
  • Have the knowledge to install, repair, inspect & test electrical installations
  • Have the ability to complete the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition Report
  • Ensure all legislative requirements are adhered to
  • Ensure all corporate polices and procedures are implemented and complied with
  • Ensure PPM's are carried out
  • Ensure all services are delivered in line with contractual commitments
