Volunteer Collection Tin Coordinator

Our client has recently pushed to get their collection tins out to more shops, cafes, pubs and other public facing businesses in the local area. Due to this increase, they are now looking for volunteers who can take on the role of coordinating our tins once they are in place.

This is a flexible role (days and times to suit you). It would suit both drivers or non drivers – if you have access to a car (mileage expenses will be covered) and you’re willing too, you can cover a larger area of our clients network or if you don’t, you can coordinate the collection tins in your local community.

About the role

  • Specifically, the role will involve phoning the businesses on a 3-month rolling basis to ask how they are getting on
  • Collecting tins no longer wanted and delivering them back to the Fundraising office
  • Swapping empty tins for full ones as and when required
  • Communicate / report any errors or issues to the Fundraising Officer
  • Be mindful of health and safety good practice and work accordingly
  • Be polite, courteous, professional and friendly to the rest of the team and customers

About you

  • An ability to work well as part of a team and alone
  • Enthusiasm, and commitment
  • A good level of initiative and common sense
  • Good communication skills
  • An open and non-discriminatory attitude
  • A flexible approach

About the organisation

Our client is a charity that has been making a difference to the lives of the people of Worthing and its surrounding areas since it was first established in 1933 by a small team of volunteers. Today they run three care homes and over 30 community services helping over 3,000 people of all ages each year with professional staff and an army of amazing volunteers. They deliver innovative and life-changing care services which help older people, children and adults with a disability, those living with dementia and their carers, to share and enjoy a richer family and community life.
