We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join the Direct tax reporting team, responsible for tax accounting and compliance across Europe, Middle East and Africa. The role will report to the EMEA Head of Tax Reporting.

You will be responsible for managing the Direct Tax Compliance process for the EMEA region including tax return process management, technical review of tax calculations and analysis and delivery for corporation tax and withholding taxes. This would include directly overseeing the in-house preparation of the UK tax returns for the group and managing OSP service delivery for the non-UK tax returns.

You will also be required to provide support for the income tax accounting process, involving review of the current and deferred monthly tax reconciliations; and providing signoff on tax notes to be included within the statutory accounts for the EMEA entities.

Your additional responsibilities will include:

  • working with the Tax Advisory team to ensure that new transactions are correctly reflected from a tax accounting perspective and captured appropriately in forecasting/ETR reporting for the EMEA region
  • supporting Business Units on regional Tax Reporting issues including acquisitions and ad hoc projects
  • providing training and support to our Indian tax shared service team members
  • supporting process improvement and change management initiatives for EMEA tax reporting with an ongoing focus on data and technology
  • supporting Revenue Authority enquiries and audits.

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience in a similar role, currently operating at a Senior manager level within a Tax Reporting function in-house or within an accountancy firm.

You will also have:

  • a strong UK Tax technical skill set
  • corporate Tax experience for large companies & consolidated groups, which includes tax accounting and compliance
  • exposure to European tax accounting and compliance issues (i.e. non UK experience) is preferred
  • an ability to understand complex structures and transactions
  • an ability to work well under pressure
  • ambition with a high level of energy and commitment
  • a strong people management and leadership skills
  • a strong Financial and Risk control mindset
  • flexibility to handle on-going change in businesses
  • excellent communication skills.
