we are looking for Event Volunteers to help facilitate the ARUK Explorer by taking on the role of photographer to capture this great event.
Location: Bakewell and surrounding areas
Dates: 26th September 2020 – Please note, this event is currently scheduled to go ahead as planned. Due to COVID-19 dates for events are subject to change. We will endeavour to inform you of any changes to any events/activities we are involved in as soon as possible
Time: You will be needed for a half or full day, between 7:00am and 6:00pm on Saturday 26th September 2020.
The opportunity:
ARUK Explorer is a 26-mile hike and walk across the Peak District. Two to three hundred walkers will take to the spectacular Peak District National Park and we are looking for Event Volunteers to help facilitate the fantastic occasion by taking on the role of photographer to capture this great event!
Your images will be shared with walkers for them to keep as a memento and we’ll use them digitally and in print for promotional purposes. You’ll be passionate, friendly, able to work independently and with access to your own photography equipment. Ideally you’ll also have use if your own car. The event is outdoors and ‘on-your feet’, so appropriate clothing is required.
What will I be doing?
- Taking a photo of each individual walker out on the route to capture the atmosphere
- Stationed either at the start or the finish line or at key route areas to snap the special moments
- Moving around the hike route to record the event in action, providing great mementos
The benefits:
By volunteering you’ll be part of a worldwide movement to defeat dementia. You will also benefit from:
- Gaining insight into the charity sector and how sporting events are managed
- The opportunity to meet new people
- A great new volunteering experience alongside people from your local community
- Receiving an Alzheimer’s Research branded T-Shirt
- Food and drink provided on the day
- You’ll also be reimbursed for reasonable out of pocket expenses
About you:
You do not need to have previous volunteering experience, ideally you will bring with you some of the following:
- Good communication skills
- An enjoyment of working with people and in teams
- Great organisational skills
- Honesty and reliability
- A passion and enthusiasm!
If this sounds like you and you’re looking for an opportunity that is fun and rewarding, then apply today!
