Job Details

Macquarie Capital’s Infrastructure & Energy Group requires a business manager to help manage performance across the global business, together with the COO, the Global Head and Business vertical/region heads. In this role, you will drive the development of the agenda, inputs and outputs for the Management Committee with the COO and Global Head. This will involve collaborating and working closely with various senior stakeholders across Macquarie Capital and Macquarie Group support functions. As well as helping to run the business, there is a strong business improvement focus in the role. There will be opportunities for you to drive continuous improvement in our Principal Investment Committee and support specific business vertical leaders with initiatives to optimize their operating model that drive greater effectiveness and enhanced top and bottom-line performance.

From a strategic perspective, you will work with the COO and Head of the Infrastructure & Energy Group to develop the strategy for the Board, along with the vision and story for our people. In addition, you will be involved in helping to shape the strategy for newer business verticals by working closely with the relevant leaders to shape and communicate the opportunities. Finally, you will also provide input into internal communications planning and execution across various channels including Workplace, email and all staff meetings and act as a change advocate across the global business.

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment with highly commercial, talented individuals with high-bar expectations and face-off well with senior business leaders. Strong analytical skills are required including ad-hoc excel analytics, data manipulation, interrogation of financials etc. You will be a strong collaborator - with both the investment banking teams and central support functions. You will also be a strong communicator – both written and verbal, ability to be succinct and deliver key messages effectively. You will also interface well and have credibility with senior leaders.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience at a top tier consulting firm (in management consulting or strategy), demonstrate strong planning and prioritization skills – an ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, keeping visibility on urgency/importance and re-adjusting prioritization as needed.  There is a need to be able to drive initiatives autonomously, keeping the COO up to date as needed. You will preferably hold a Masters and/or MBA degree.

If you are ready for a new challenge within a global COO function, apply online today, or for more information visit www.macquarie.com/careers

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
