Office Based, Multi-Location, Home Based. Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not overseas. Some travel will be required between FSA offices (once lockdown restrictions have been lifted). Due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, new-starters will be required to work from home and revert back to their preferred working pattern once lockdown has been lifted.

About the job Summary

The FSA is a non-ministerial department of over 1300 people, with a big vision – to drive change in the food system so that it delivers “food we can trust” - as the country has now left the EU, the scale of this challenge cannot be underestimated. More than 90% of food and feed law in the UK currently comes from Europe and our primary goal is to continue to protect public health and UK consumers’ wider interest in food.

An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of the FSA IT Division.

The Lead Supplier Manager will report to the G6 Head of IT and will work with colleagues from across ODD to ensure contracts and supplier performance are routinely reviewed, are aligned to business needs and represent excellent value for money. A key aspect of the role is to build on excellent working relations with the supplier base to drive supplier performance and to ensure core suppliers provide high quality, timely and coherent integration services to the business.

Job description

Duties include:

• Ensure supplier frameworks, contracts and services align with business needs and that business requirements are suitably supported through proactive account development and management to drive service improvement and value for money.
• Ensure service delivery is aligned with contract specifications, ensuring high quality and standards are maintained including performance against agreed metrics including SLAs and KPIs.
• Review and creation of supplier management suite of KPI's/Reporting and ensuring that this is continually maintained and updated to provide live performance data.
• Develop effective working relationships with the Service Management team, providing best practice advice and guidance including clear points of escalation etc.
• Work proactively with the service management team and wider business to obtain supplier performance feedback, escalating and challenging the supplier base as appropriate.
