Join the Solar Development, Construction and Asset Management Business of the Green Investment Group as a Senior Construction Manager and help support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy.

As the Senior Construction Manager, you will be accountable for delivering construction projects from contract signature to commercial operations date, working with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partners to maintain the highest quality standards during the delivery of works and ensure compliance with the engagements made.   Based in London, you will work closely with an experienced team across various disciplines (Technical, Design, Asset Management, M&A) and will be expected to spend significant time in travelling across the UK as needed with deal counterparties, contractors, advisers, shareholders and key stakeholders.  You will bring a proven track record in delivering the construction and commissioning of complex solar projects to demonstrate technical expertise and pedigree.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • supporting contract negotiations (EPC, O&M, asset management and construction management)
  • contributing in optimising project designs through layout optimisation and technology selection
  • managing third party providers for technical reports and due diligence
  • resolving contractual and technical problems in a timely manner through effective collaboration and close liaison with external parties, providing a deep and accurate knowledge of the project’s deliverables, including reporting and the management and structuring of robust HSEQ procedures, processes, and supervision
  • conducting site visits pre-construction and in-construction to ensure project feasibility and quality
  • liaising with management of construction and asset managers throughout the project execution phases.

To succeed in this role, you will have significant experience working on solar and wind projects, with strong focus on the Construction phase, although a strong understanding of the Development phase including constraints analysis, grid connection process and permitting process is important. You will also possess prior experience in the appraisal/operational management of solar technologies, including behind the meter, PPAs and battery storage projects.  You will have a demonstrable understanding of investor technical due diligence requirements and procedures and bring a successful track record of leading and managing complex projects, preferably in the Renewable Energy sector, Solar (Ground Mounted and Rooftops) and Wind, including working alongside Joint Venture partners and other stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

A degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline will be needed, as would additional language skills including excellent written and spoken English.

If you possess an entrepreneurial mindset, a self-starter attitude and are a strong team player with the gravitas to command the respect and trust of Macquarie’s partners external parties, we want to hear from you!
