Team Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to be a part of a fantastic and supportive team consisting of 4 Refuge Workers, a Team Leader and 2 Children and Family Workers. The domestic abuse service in Kensington and Chelsea are now looking for a Team Manager for a 6-month contract.

Position: Team Manager – Domestic Abuse Service

Location: Kensington and Chelsea

Hours: 39 hours per week (all Managers may need to undertake on call duties during out of hours, for which they will be remunerated in addition to their salary)

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday flexi-time. Core hours 10am-4pm

Contract: 6-month contract

Salary: £32,004.60 pro rata, per annum

The Role

The Domestic Abuse Service across Kensington and Chelsea providing emergency refuge accommodation to women and their children fleeing domestic abuse. They provide a trauma-informed temporary emergency accommodation to women and their children (if any) who have left abusive situations. The service comprises of two refuges, providing full housing management and support facilities; and access to the award-winning peer support ‘Butterfly’ Programme.

The service is designed to empower and support women in determining their own futures. The charity does this through providing practical and emotional support, appropriate advice and advocacy for women living at the refuge on such matters as; housing, welfare benefits, legal options, health, education, training and childcare.

The Team Manager role will include managing 2 sites and the Butterfly Project. Working with a very supportive team and in a good working environment, the refuge is within close proximity of public transport and surrounded by local amenities.

About You

As Team Manager, you will bring with you:

· Experience of leading and motivate a team to achieve service outcomes

· The ability to manage all aspects of a domestic abuse refuge service

· An understanding of the legislative policy contact of housing related support and VAWG service provision

· An understanding of trauma and the ability to translate this knowledge into trauma-informed service provision

· The ability to communicate confidently and effectively to a wide range of audiences

· The ability to develop and maintain partnerships

· A good understanding of housing management and the ability to manage arrears, voids, health and safety and property standards

· An understanding of co-production and the ability to ensure that the service is delivered in partnership with service users

· Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
