Job description

If successful you will support the Deputy Director for Europe and International, ensuring they are managing their time effectively. Acting in a key support role to ensure that they are well briefed ahead of meetings and engaging all parts of their team. The Deputy Director also actively supports diversity and inclusion initiatives, so you will be a part of driving forward these initiatives to support this work and help deliver improvements by working collaboratively across the Directorate.

You will play an integral role ensuring that the Deputy Director’s diary is correct and up to date, arranging meetings appropriately for maximum efficiency and using your knowledge of what’s important to her to manage requests. You will work closely with the team, cascading key messages and updates.
 

Responsibilities

- Supporting the Deputy Director in the delivery and monitoring of the recognition reward schemes to ensure fairness and equality

- Working collaboratively with our offices in Canada and Washington to ensure joined up working through commission information and ensuring reporting and data is returned on time

- Ensuring necessary travel arrangements are made when required and in line with requirements and the Department’s policies.

- Managing the Deputy Director’s diary appointments to ensure their time is being used efficiently, meetings are appropriately prioritised and organised promptly

Additional information

We are following current government guidelines and working remotely, if successful at interview you will be provided with IT equipment to carry out your duties remotely.

Once usual service resumes there will be occasional travel involved with this role, this will usually occur 1-2 times a year. You will be provided with full notice of this.

To be successful, you will need to be a highly organised individual. You are someone that can handle several conflicting priorities at any one given time, ensuring that each task is completed within a timely manner.

Excellent communication skills are pivotal to this role, you will have the ability to provide guidance and robust recommendations to internal stakeholders.

This interview could be conducted via a video interview, details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.
