Job Details

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose - to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities.

With over five million customers, and having celebrated our 200th anniversary in 2015, Scottish Widows is one of the UK's most trusted Life, Pensions and Investments providers.

We want to ensure this success continues and grows, and in Insurance and Wealth we contribute to this success by providing critical services to our customers and supporting them with their Insurance and Workplace Savings needs, whilst ensuring the customer is at the heart of our business.

What will you be doing?

The Workplace Savings & Distribution team are integral to the success of our Insurance strategy to 'protect today and secure tomorrow'. Our colleagues represent and promote our flagship Scottish Widows workplace savings propositions across the financial services industry; engaging with consultants, advisers, employers, trustees, and end-customers, to build strong, lasting relationships to achieve business results.

You'll be working in the Client Relationships team with key EBCs to give an outstanding experience to their employer/trustee panel. You'll deepen relationships, identify and satisfy client needs via a mix of working with other WRMs (Workplace Relationship Managers) in the team and also looking after some clients directly. The relationships you will directly manage will be part of our key relationships.

Additionally you'll meet business targets through closely supporting the EBCs in delivery of client needs using deep technical knowledge and strategic EBC and customer insight. And you you'll be a key member of the Client Relationships leadership team and act as an ambassador for change, an early adopter of tools designed to improve the client and colleague experience and support your wider team to achieve their objectives.

Additional accountabilities will include;

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of important workplace client relationships (employers, trustees and their advisers.) and significant EBC client relationships.

  • Meeting the needs of clients by having a deep understanding of the EBC and client's pensions landscape and employee benefit strategy; building deep relationships where the EBC and clients see them as a key consultant to support the employee benefit strategy.

  • Using the individual employer/trustee governance process to demonstrate strategic value to the client and the scheme members.

  • Understanding and able to effectively communicate our range of insurance and wider group products and services and our related roadmaps for enhancement.

  • Supporting the client's strategy to engage the members of their pension scheme for better outcomes at retirement

  • Understanding investment propositions and has or can quickly build relationships across the group to support investment strategy including Investment Only and bespoke arrangements

  • Growing your own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities

  • Builds strong internal and external relationships in a professional way and helps influence change where needed.

  • Uncovers emerging issues and/or needs and identifies potential causes, related issues, key partners and barriers.

  • Aligns with our risk management framework

  • P&L responsibility and delivery

What we'll need from you;

  • Deep understanding of relationship management for large clients and advisers in the workplace pensions market

  • Business and Market Insight including knowledge of Workplace Pensions and an understanding of the pensions landscape

  • Demonstrable ability to think strategically across the workplace pensions proposition for the benefit of the clients and advisers

  • A solid understanding of risk management frameworks to ensure compliance and safe delivery for the client

Additionally you'd get a benefits package that includes;

  • A performance related bonus

  • Generous pension contribution

  • 30 Days leave plus bank holidays

  • A flexible cash pot (4% of base salary) to spend on benefits

  • Private health cover

We're dedicated to giving you opportunities and support to develop you both expertly and personally to optimise your potential.

As a new colleague, you'll join us on our journey to build a 21st century bank that reflects modern Britain, and craft an inclusive culture where all colleagues feel encouraged and valued.

We're committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and to building an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit. We support the principles of agile working and are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We're an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity within our organisation.

Together we make it possible.

Company

We’re creating an organisation that attracts, retains and develops the best talent in the industry, and one that openly embraces diversity too. But more than that – we want to be a great place to work. We invest in our people, offering the best training and coaching, and by encouraging them to contribute to our leading corporate and social responsibility practices. We offer flexible working hours and days, under our Work Options scheme. This means that you can have a challenging and rewarding career, and still have an ideal work/life balance.

Flexible working is at the heart of our strategy. We’re re-imagining where, when, and how our people work, with new approaches designed to meet the ever-changing needs of customers and colleagues. These include increasing our use of remote-working tools and technology, as well as placing less reliance on a 9-to-5 mindset. For many of our office-based colleagues, we work in hybrid ways which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of their time at one of our office sites.
