Salary: £18,727 (shift allowances included) + 25 days holiday, pension, bonus incentive scheme, additional flexible benefits.

Full time Permanent Position

Start Date - 1/2/2021

We can only accept one application per person for our customer service positions, even if there are multiple role.

We are the AA. And we keep everyone’s show on the road. There for our customers wherever and whenever they need us, we’re always ready for anything. That’s why, for over 100 years, we’ve continued to evolve and adapt. Today, as the nation’s number one motoring organization, we offer a range of excellent products and services to millions of customers.

This is the job

What are we wanting?......Someone that is excited to be a part of the AA story and engage with new & existing customers. You will have a passion for providing a great experience to the heart of our business – our members.  As long as you are a good listener and have good communication skills, we will give you all the training you will need to be successful in the role.

What will I be doing?

You will take part in a 4-week induction where we will teach you the ways of The AA, but it doesn’t stop there…you will receive ongoing support and development throughout your time here. This training will be a combination of on-site in our office and virtual sessions but always in line with the governments Covid-19 guidelines on safe working practices.  Your safety is our main priority!

Working for the AA, you will be doing the most important job for us - making and taking calls to potential new members and telling them all about our amazing products and services. You will be instrumental in providing great customer experiences to our members, either by engaging with existing members that have lapsed and getting them back on the AA journey or by contacting potential new members, who have registered an interest but haven’t yet signed up.

What do I need?

If you love talking to people and you’re passionate about great sales and customer service, then this position is for you!

We want people with Enthusiasm and commitment to providing world class customer service to our members and are passionate about doing the right thing.  Working in this role you need to be a team player and be comfortable sharing your knowledge with others like they will with you.

Making sure we are available for our members at all times (our opening times our weekdays 8am – 8pm and Saturday 9am – 5pm) we operate a shift pattern here which includes working every other Saturday but don’t worry, you get a day off in the week so it’s still only 5 days a week.

If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, please apply and a member of the team will be in touch to arrange a quick call. If that goes well, then you will be invited to attend one of our virtual Careers Days where you will learn everything you didn’t know you needed to know about The AA and leave knowing this is the place you want to be!

The site is located on the outskirts of Stockport with onsite free parking available and local bus routes easily accessible.  The site is easily commutable from South Cheshire, Stockport and Greater Manchester amongst other areas.  Home working is also available, this is after training and competency in the role have been approved, which can range from 3-6 months.

Candidate Process

We are holding a virtual careers day on Tuesday 5th January.  There will be a follow up interview with a Team Leader the same week (TBC) with an induction start date of 1st February 2021 - its a quick and smooth process, just like our members enjoy.

What else is expected of me?

Good conduct matters at the AA.  It's very important that you act with honesty & integrity, are respectful of others and have a consistent desire to do the right thing.  Everyone at the AA lives these behaviours, so we are all able to support the delivery of good outcomes for our customers.

Company

The AA has been around for over 100 years and was formed on 29June 1905 when a group of motoring enthusiasts met at the Trocadero restaurant in London's West End. This group was initially intended to champion the cause of the motorist and particularly to help motorists avoid police speed traps. As motoring became more popular, so did we - the AA's 100 members in 1905 grew to 83,000 by 1914. As AA membership expanded, so did our activities.

Today, the AA is the largest breakdown cover organisation in the UK. Other services and products we provide include: car insurance, maps, travel guides, campsite guides, home insurance, savings accounts, smart phone and tablet apps and home emergency breakdown cover. Here are some of the key points in our history.

We know what makes people happy at work and we are pretty good at it.  We are good at matching people to jobs that they love and thrive in. Our managers are supportive and approachable. We make work fun. And we give you the back up you need to deliver an amazing service to our customers.

There are excellent career opportunities here too. Whether you want to excel in your chosen field, or you would like to move into management, there are plenty of opportunities.

We know that extras are important to you, so from the day you start working with us, you are entitled to a range of employee benefits.

SETTLING INTO THE JOB
Your first few weeks may differ depending on the business area you have joined. Some have longer induction programmes than others, but the advice is still the same. Your first few weeks are all about starting off well and laying the right foundations so that you can fulfil the role you have been recruited to do and feel part of the AA community. So your job in these few weeks is to focus on all the practical things you will need to know.

SUPPORTING YOU TO DO WELL
Every year your manager will look at your performance, and discuss ways for you to improve and develop. We do this, so that you can really fulfil your potential, and look at ways to move to the top of your game.

Building expertise in what you do - where it's needed you'll get regular training to make sure that you're kept up to date and have the skills you need to be the best at your job. Learning resources are provided at each of our locations, and may include books, computer-based training packages and videos.
