Our client is a charity that support people with learning disabilities in the community. They want to demonstrate that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society but they can’t do this without you! They need Support Workers in the Stowemarket area to make their vision a reality.

Position: Support Worker
Location: Stowemarket, Suffolk
Job type: Part Time / Relief - This role is shift work
Salary: £9.01 per hour

About the role:

The role of a Support Worker is to ensure the people you support are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. A Support Worker will promote independence and support people to engage in meaningful activities.

We are looking for a confident cheerful person to support a gentleman with learning disabilities and additional mobility needs in Stowmarket. He enjoys chatting to his staff and weather permitting, a walk around town in his wheelchair to visit the local café. He enjoys watching the old game shows on TV and likes staff to join in.

About You:

As a Support Worker in this service you don't need to have worked in supported living before. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you.

You'll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Maths is also required.
