RB Social Care are looking for 3 full-time and 1 part-time Female Support Workers for 2 residential services in the Croydon area, supporting adults with learning disabilities and associated needs, including sometimes behaviours that can challenge.

These vacancies are for female Support Workers - a Genuine Occupational Requirement due to the ratio of female service users in the homes and the need to give personal care.

Additionally, applicants must have a (manual) drivers licence, as you will need to drive adapted vehicles to transport residents, or for days out.

As a Support Worker you will provide support and care to individuals with a learning disability, mental health needs and/or a physical disability. You will support residents to live the lives that they want and to be part of the local community.

You will be an important and valued part of the team, providing excellent standards of support and care, working on a 1-to-1 basis with residents, helping them with all aspects of independent living and assisting with personal care.

Typical duties might include: -

• Assisting clients with getting washed and dressed, preparing meals, prompting and assistance with taking medication
• Light household tasks
• Offering companionship and helping build clients confidence and independence

As with most Support Worker positions, applicants must be able to work alternate weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins (1 a week), but although days vary, shifts are (Apply online only), so for the full-time positions, you will be able to cover the hours across 3 days.

Whilst we want applications from people who have previous experience of working in a similar environment, full training will be provided. The most important element for applicants is that they should be caring, compassionate & empathetic.

Whether you are an experienced Support Worker or fancy a change in career and believe you have the empathy for this exciting and rewarding career, we want to hear from you.
