Marketing Communications Officer, St Albans

Our client, a not-for-profit organisation based in St Albans, is recruiting for a marketing communications officer to join their busy team which is focused upon Covid Response.

Initially a three month contract with a view for further extension. We are looking for a person that can start asap. Part-time maybe considered.

This newly created role will provide comprehensive project and communications support to the Covid-19 response team. You will deliver media activity on a number of priorities for the organisation and various partnership projects - finding and delivering meaningful proactive stories about the development and delivery of the community response to the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as responding to other emerging stories and issues to ensure that the organisation and everyone involved are fairly represented, and the information that local residents get through the media, is accurate.

You will need great communication skills in order to assist in managing our relationships with customers, members and strategic stakeholders. The role includes liaising with clients on the phone as well as speaking to volunteers who are carrying out tasks. You will need strong IT skills and attention to detail, to enable you to accurately keep our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system up to date and to have clear email communications with volunteers and other organisations.

Key responsibilities:

* Help plan and implement the delivery of media, PR, social media and external affairs activity in support of the community response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

* Content creation, producing high quality and clear content to communicate the programme updates effectively to stakeholders including media, local government, stakeholders, partners, residents and internally.

* Provide a high quality, resident-focused copywriting service to ensure all public and stakeholder communications are clear and easy to understand

* Support a positive working relationship with our local partners and other relevant local organisations and voluntary services to ensure a cohesive approach to service delivery.

* Support the Project Coordinator to produce high quality reports monthly including statistical information compiled by project monitoring methods, including assisting in the development of case studies.

* The identification of all opportunities to proactively promote services and change programmes

* Assist with the implementation of social media campaigns

* Assist with the management of marketing customer communication campaigns from conception through to implementation

* Provide day-to-day support to the Community Help Network, Services and Volunteering Development teams; *

Contribute to a forward planning process to co-ordinate work across the organisation and partnerships

* To develop, take ownership of and drive forward imaginative communications campaigns to promote initiatives and services

* Create, edit, publish and share daily suitable content (captions, images, video, gifs or graphic design work) for the related market audience that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
