You will:

• As a Principal be responsible for understanding the global vision for our products and platforms, and the wider Enterprise, defining and evolving our architectural strategy to meet our ambitious goals, evolving our platform with creative end to end solutions that achieve it.
• Work with tech leadership and development teams to deliver in an iterative and value-lead way.
• You will provide leadership to our Solution Architecture team, mentoring and developing their practise and approach to solution architecture.
• We are about to embark on a massive evolution of our estate, building foundational platforms to bring more outstanding features to existing and new users. You will be responsible for understanding and drive high scale, high performance, multi tenanted and territory platforms, and modern cloud based solutions that are secure, highly responsive, scalable and resilient in the face of failure of dependent components and systems.
• You will often be the first port of call for architectural impact or assessment representing Group Digital across Sky. As well as representing Sky in external partners, technology and professional forums.
• Communicate our approach across the whole of Group Digital and the wider Enterprise, looking for opportunities to collaborate and support the wider Sky product suite.
• Work across a variety of disciplines, integrations and subject areas, including our primary domains of data ingest, editorial content, personalisation, interactive and dependent domains of video and streaming, IAM, TV programming.

You’ll have:

• Excellent people skills and stakeholder management
• Proven experience of delivering into complex high performance eco-systems and working in a fast paced, results orientated delivery organisation and being open, flexible and pragmatic without compromising the solution quality.
• Be able to translate our future user and business needs, technology and product trends, to ensure we can plan and adapt our strategies accordingly.
• Experience of working with various maturity and ages of architecture and platforms, being able to define a pragmatic and evolutionary approach, dismantling and migrating off monolith or legacy systems to modern architectural styles.
