We have immediate opportunities to provide support workers to provide vital support to people with a learning disability through this tough time. We're recruiting full time, part time permanent and bank Support Workers across the UK now!

What does a Support Worker do?

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.

  • Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
  • Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, house work, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
  • Excellent communication skills/relationship building - supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and individuality.

In Bradford you will be supporting people with learning disabilities both male and female to live independent and active lives. These people have a wide range of support needs and interests between them, which will make your role varied and interesting. You will be actively involved in promoting and encouraging them to make their own choices in everything they do.

We are looking for a someone who not only is passionate about supporting people with a learning disability, but someone who also shares an interest in superheroes, video games and aircrafts.

We will be offering contracts between 20 - 30 hours. Shifts are on a rota basis and include weekends. Shifts are various lengths between 7am-10pm and involve rota sleep in shifts.

You do not need to have a driving licence or experience in this sector to apply, but you will need to share our Mencap values and be a caring, positive and trustworthy person who is keen to support adults with a learning disability.
