Business Development Manager - Part-Time - West Yorkshire

This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a Business development or sales background to join their company part-time. My client is one of the UK's most well-respected construction consultants, renowned for providing CDM & HSEQ services to clients. Due to an increase in contract awards, business growth in recent years, a significant forward order workload, and a dedication to continued profitable, long term growth across the UK, our client is now seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager for the entire UK Operations. The candidate will initially focus on the growth of current established services, including building surveying, health and safety services, asbestos consultancy and principal contractor services.

The Role

•You will be the "front" of the Company and have the dedication to help create and apply an effective business development strategy where your goal will be to drive
sustainable growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients across the portfolio of services
•The role is primarily to nurture the current client base consisting of accounts, with the responsibility for the compliance and submission of PQQ's for bids
•The role is highly autonomous and as the successful Business Development Manager you will enjoy the thrill of identifying new business and developing this to help grow
the overall turnover of the Company
•This role will require an entrepreneurial approach, and assist in the creation and execution of a business growth strategy that is focused on financial gain and customer
satisfaction
•Help devise and work to specific business development KPI's aligned to the wider sales and commercial strategy of the business
•Proactive exploitation of new and repeat business opportunities throughout the UK
•To proactively and systematically monitor and track customer sales performance (qualitative and quantitative), and present management information, reports and
feedback (sales pipeline, productivity and performance results, customer satisfaction data etc), and where relevant initiate remedial action to maintain the required
standard
•Conduct regular analysis of the market environment and customer trends that addresses or predicts clients' objectives, and provide relevant feedback to the appropriate
personnel within the company to aid revenue generation opportunities
•Identify business development opportunities, implement marketing initiatives, undertake necessary campaign sales follow up and create relevant sales collate
•Responsibility of CRM system to ensure customer sales data is maintained
•Liaising with the relevant Estimating, Commercial, Operations and Financial team members to ensure that the company's objectives are met, and where necessary report
any degree of sales or financial risk to the Commercial Director

The Person

•A proven track record of business development/ sales would be advantageous
•Experience of working for both parties of a contract (Principal Contractor and Sub Contractor)
•Lead the formal bidding process and responsibility for submissions through the whole tender process utilising industry procurement platforms
•Driven to achieve commercial targets, and in doing so, support the company's business development objectives
•A market-led approach to business, with a clear understanding of the process required to determine and prioritise the needs and goals of clients
•Strong commercial awareness with excellent numeracy skills
•An excellent communicator possessing strong negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate yourself extremely well in both written and verbal communication
•First-class analytical skills with strong attention to detail
•Proficient IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly PowerPoint and Excel
•Strong organisational, planning, personal effectiveness, and time management skills
•Ability to work flexibly and make decisions quickly
