Paediatric Support Worker

About this Job -

We are currently recruiting for a Paediatric Support Worker to support a young boy who has several complex health conditions. The young boy has a neurological movement disorder called Dystonia with symptoms such as uncontrolled muscles cramps and spasms. Due to this movement disorder, the young boy has a deep brain stimulator fitted to treat spasms.

This role is part time for someone who can work a mixture of days, nights and weekends, with the following shift patterns available:

  • 10:00- 18:00 weekends
  • 19:00- 07:00 7 nights a week
  • 12:00 - 17:00 (Term time only)

The person we support has the following clinical interventions:

  • Monitoring of saturation levels
  • Oral Suction
  • Gastrostomy
  • Medications
  • Moving and assisting
  • Deep brain stimulation monitoring
  • Blood sugar monitoring

Previous experience is advantageous but not essential as you will receive training tailored to this person's specific needs.
