Occupational Therapist Band 7 - part time 15 hours permanent post

Doncaster’s Mental Health Services for Older People provide inpatient and community services for people who present with a range of mental health difficulties

An opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist to join our Community Mental Health Team for Older People, working in the South locality team. The post holder will be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing a high quality person centred, accessible service for patients who have been referred due to their mental health difficulties. Direct working with patients and carers, enabling them to attain or maximise recovery, occupation, social inclusion, well-being, risk management and falls prevention is the main focus of this role.

We welcome applicants who have experience of working in mental health and / or with older adults and you will need to have some knowledge/experience of working with people with dementia. You should have also have some knowledge of current practices in falls prevention.

  • You should be committed to person centred care and delivery
  • You will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and develop links with community based resources in partnership with a range of staff, carers and other agencies.

  • You should be a confident and effective communicator with service users and carers, staff of all professional groups as well as with external partner agencies.

  • You will be joining a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team and have an opportunity to contribute to service quality and developments within the community mental health services and the wider OT team.
