An Overview of the Role

Capgemini’s Relaunch Programme is aimed at supporting talented professionals back into the business by providing a tailored 6-month programme to help refresh and update existing skills as well as developing confidence. The Test Analyst role, sits within the Test and Release Service, which is part of the Capgemini global group and the Industry leaders in testing services delivering across the public sector in the UK. We deliver a wide variety of projects across multiple technology platforms into numerous business areas. It is a fast-paced and challenging environment to work within. The role

You will play a key part in supporting the software development and delivery of a flagship program for one of Capgemini’s key clients. The role will involve working in a team of testers on the preparation and execution of the ST/ISIT test phases of one or more release based projects.

Reporting to a Team Leader /Test Manager, activities include;

  • Analysing customer requirements
  • Identifying test cases
  • Writing test scripts
  • Test data preparation
  • Running/recording tests.

The work

This role requires an understanding of test techniques and Risk-Based Testing (RBT) in order to verify outcomes against the expected results and record results for use in audit trails, using quality processes and procedures. Checking and assessing requirements, including assessing testability of designs. Creating low-level test plans, test scripts, and setting up test data. Running tests, collecting and recording results, and then retesting to prove that errors identified have been corrected. Providing regular status reports to the test manager as well as identifying and raising project risks and issues.

Achieved/willingness to achieve the following test certification:

  • ISEB / ISTQB Foundation level

Experience/willingness to learn the following test process/stages:

  • Desire to deliver high-quality assurance solutions
  • Knowledge of agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery lifecycles
  • Production of test cases and test data from requirements specifications
  • Functional, integration and end-to-end testing using both manual and automated tests
  • Recording results/evidence and the defect management process

Experience/willingness to learn the following technologies:

  • Test Management tools, such as JIRA and Confluence
  • API testing using tools, such as SOAP UI or Postman, with XML / JSON payloads
  • Web automation testing using tools such as Selenium/Cucumber and JAVA
  • Microservices testing using WS02, MongoDB, RabbitMQ and Wire Logs
  • Testing of SAP systems
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery using tools, such as GIT and Jenkins
