Elevation Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working in partnership with a reputable organisation based in the Sheffield area as they look to expand their team with a knowledgeable & committed Company Accountant on a part time basis (3 Days Per Week)!

The successful candidate will be joining a small, friendly office working closely with the team to provide support across a range of duties from transactional finance through to the month-end preparation. You will become part of a close-knit team and have strong managers around you that genuinely care about their staff, their motivations and team moral.

Key responsibilities of the Accountant will include:

* Close both purchase and sales ledger, and ensure accurate reconciliations
* Raise monthly bacs payments and ensure cash management procedures are adhered to
* Reconcile and upload payroll journals into the accounts
* Payroll Reporting
* Contribute to monthly and year end accounts production
* Complete project monitoring forms and provide support to managers and budget holders
* Perform account reconciliations, raise journals, and ensure all costs are appropriate
* Ensure accurate cost and forecasting models
* Reconcile the control accounts including VAT
* Monitor compliance to systems and processes to provide training
* Assess and develop the finance system, processes, and reporting requirements
* Process improvements
* Manage data on finance systems
* Engage and build strong working relationships with users at all levels and roles within the business

My client is keen to find someone with the below skills:

* At least 2 years' experience within an all-round Accounts Assistant role
* Strong IT skills including knowledge of Excel
* Ability to pick up new tasks and systems quickly
* Hands-on approach and proven ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Strong communication skills and telephone manner
* Educated to AAT level (desired but not essential)
