Recovery Worker

We are looking for a Residential Outreach Recovery Worker to establish and maintain post treatment support for attendees of a residential treatment programme for people with severe gambling problems.

Position: Residential Outreach Recovery Worker

Location: Beckenham - including flexible hours and travelling

Salary: £24,313

Hours: Full-time

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: 28 days’ annual leave, 6% pension contribution, flexible and remote working opportunities, occupational sick pay, eye care vouchers.

About the Role

The charity provides residential treatment services for people with severe gambling problems. On treatment completion, it offers ongoing recovery support, through relapse prevention, other therapeutic interventions, and practical support. This also includes facilitating access to wider services and skills building, promoting the Recovery House Programme and developing opportunities to use the voices of lived experiences in shaping and influences all areas of its work.

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationship with external organisations
  • Provide proactive aftercare recovery support
  • Lead on the development of service user involvement, including recovery-focused events for ex-residents, and development of peer support initiatives
  • Work closely with the residential treatment service, Recovery House and other Wrap-around services
  • Work to ensure that the development of services meets the aims and objectives of the organisation and serves to further enhance the well-established reputation for high-quality treatment and recovery support

 

About You

As a Residential Outreach Recovery Worker, you will have experience in providing emotional support in a relevant addiction, health or social care setting as well as a passion and firm understanding of how to bring service users voices to the forefront of service development and decision making.

You will have experience of:

 

  • Problem gambling/gambling addiction or other addictions either as a practitioner or as lived experience
  • Supporting emotionally vulnerable individuals
  • Delivering and understanding recovery-oriented systems of care
  • Building good relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Working on your own initiative and managing your workload and caseload effectively and flexibly
  • Promptly identifying, reporting and acting on risk/safeguarding or other concerns
  • Working comfortably with different needs and diversities

 

You will also have a Health and Social Care, IAG qualification or equivalent and may also have relevant personal lived experience or relevant work experience of working with the lived experience of others.

They provide advice, education and high quality innovative therapeutic support to problem gamblers and those affected by gambling, through residential, online and outreach services.
