An Overview of the Role

Capgemini’s Relaunch Programme is aimed at supporting talented professionals back into the business by providing a tailored 6-month programme to help refresh and update existing skills as well as developing confidence. We understand that you won’t necessarily match every requirement on the job description but will have some relevant previous experience and a wiliness to learn and further develop your skills in this area. The Digital Delivery Centre was set up in 2015 to support HMRC’s Digital by Default ambitions. Following the Agile methodology, the services that we deliver have the user’s needs at the forefront.

We have grown our capacity in the centre by almost 85% in 18 months, and we are now looking for the right candidates to support our future expansion plans.

The role

You will be working in an Agile Scrum team on the preparation and execution of the test phases (using Test Automation) of one or more release based projects. You will be involved in projects that are varied and challenging and require a sound software and system testing skills.

You will be applying your broad testing techniques to verify outcomes against the expected results, and record results for use in audit trails, using quality processes and procedures.

You will be open and keen to learn new capabilities and operate as a generalising specialist in other fields, e.g. learning development skills.

The work

Working in Digital Quality Assurance as a Test Analyst you will:

  • Checking and assess requirements, including assessing testability of designs.
  • Create low-level test scripts and setting up test data in conjuction with external systems and teams.
  • Run tests, collecting and recording results and then retesting to prove that errors identified have been corrected.
  • Provide regular status reports to the Manager as well as identifying and raising project risks and issues.
  • Work across and use a number of different platforms, tools and applications including Unix, Oracle, SQL, XML, Weblogic, Excel, SOAP UI and Selenium

Why You?

You will have a some experience and background in testing within complex environments using both manual and automated techniques

  • Test Automation experience
  • An understanding of Assurance and Test Strategies.
  • Competency in analysis of requirements and identifying test conditions
  • Experience with a range of testing tools, methods and technologies and ability to communicate approaches and best practices.

Achieved/willingness to achieve the following certification:

  • ISEB / ISTQB Foundation or equivalent

Experience/willingness to learn the following:

  • Selenium Webdriver
